The West Wind
It seemed to me
You would just fly away
When I took your frail arm
And we walked on the Downs
You were lighter than light
The swirling breeze
Brought changes
That happen
Shapes and signs
Signs of the times
But you knew well
And you knew best
Tired of life
With no way to rest
The West wind took you
And that was that
And the wandering wind
Blew all through your house
And you went low
Turned down like a lamp
In the dawn of the day
The sun rose in the East
The breeze blew in from the West
And carried you off
To a place beyond time
To your home in the air
Lighter than light
Brighter than bright
