Family Loss
There are words
And there are words
Grief - sadness – loss
Tears – emptiness
And so forth
Words are not enough
When hearts are full
Bursting with sorrow
And with the deepest pain
Words won’t do
When chaos rules
It seems unnatural
To lose like this
We’re not supposed to lose
But then what’s natural
In a world of pain?
Yet here are words
That try to heal
And here are souls
That try to love
And here are thoughts
That could bring change
Inside and out
This place we occupy
Is so arranged
For us to feel
The laughter and the pain
The weeping and the loss
And we must turn the page
And as we turn
We smile through tears
At those familiar faces
Cherish what we had
That came and went
And seems to be no more
Turn that page
And feel the change
Turn and turn and turn again
And learn that love
And understanding
Will be back
To learn and love again
