Go Have A Wonderful Time
So many deep questions have to be asked
With or without confession
If I pop my sweet clogs,
Will I go to the dogs?
Or travel first class to heaven?
These are the thoughts that haunt me
When skimming along through space
If you cheat a bad cheat,
Or thrum a dead beat
Do you end in a frivolous place?
In truth I care not a snotty jot
My plan is to snooze in the sun
Once the doctor’s shoved off
And I’ve coughed my last cough
I’ll be having outlandish fun
And you folks that sniff at my funeral
Just be colourful, smiling and gay
I’ve finished with dying
And taken up flying
A stunt-filled flamboyant display
And all that I’m justly demanding
As I squeeze all my thoughts into rhyme
Go out … dance and sing
Do a wild highland fling
And have a wonderful time
