All the readings on this website are written by interfaith minister Anthea Ballam. Based in Sussex, Anthea has been a professional writer all her life. After being ordained as an interfaith minister in 2007, she developed her ministry by supporting people at the time of bereavement, working as a funeral celebrant. This website is the product of all the readings and prayers Anthea has written for funerals, memorials and services she has conducted. Whenever it seemed difficult to find the right reading for a funeral, she would write words that honoured the deceased. In this way she has created a great variety of readings, from the grieving to the humorous.The website now contains around 150 funeral readings and prayers and continues to grow.
Anthea has been involved with the Interfaith Contact Group of Brighton & Hove for many years and has served as Chaplain to the Mayor of Brighton and Hove on two occasions.
